I dont think K8 plugs will work on a KLZE or atleast fit.
If your going to do the swap you might aswell change the spark plugs, cap, rotor and wires.

I know you're not suppose to use DE plugs in a ZE because of the higher compression pistons it would actually hit the plug. Considering that a K8 and a DE uses the same compression, I would assume that if the plugs fit, the outcome would be the same

K8's run at 10:1 compression? I had heard that they were 9.1:1 compression and that ZE's run at 10:1? I will research further ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

k8 has 9.2:1 compression. He probably ment de and ze have same compression.

Well I couldnt really find a specific tech source (granted I only looked for 10 minutes LOL) for the KLZE.. but the general consensus is that it has a 10:1 compression ratio. As for the other K series engines.. I did find this link in the FAQ forum:
http://www.mazdamaniac.com/tech/SAE_20920677.htm
Which shows a 9.2:1 ratio for the K8 & DE. Interestingly enough.. the KF has a 9.5:1 compression ratio. Anyway.. good read in that link in anycase.
For spark plugs.. this is a good read here:

This topic has been discussed many times.
But yes the correct plug for klze is BKR6E-11. its the same plug for the k8 but the k8 is BKR5E-11 the number is the heat range, the K8 uses a hotter plug. You can use either in the klze. Technically you would gain more power with the k8 as its hotter plug and you would run a bit hotter(lean).
the DE plug are a tad longer and rumor has it the piston will hit the plug. That is a hoax if you ask me. I ran them for a few days without any problems with the gap closing. And after having a few ze's apart the piston will actually hit the squish area of the head before it even comes close to the plug.
But to clear it up the correct plug for the ze is NGK BKR6E-11 or Denso K20PR-U11
