Is my clutch toast?

Post by zreon »

So yesterday I was driving my car normal, not driving it hard or anything. I pull up to a stop light. I push the clutch in and put it in to first. I noticed while I'm still holding the clutch in the car is starting to move forward. I release the clutch and now it feels very very loose.

The problem is even worse today. As soon as I push the clutch in and pop it in to gear, the car immediately lunges forward.

I'm guessing that my clutch is dead? If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.

You clutch is dead when your car doesn't move. You car is moving.

Something probably worked its way loose and threw your clutch adjustment. Check the hoses, connections, master/slave cylinders for damage. Bleed system. Check adjustments. rinse. replace. repeat.

Yeah, sounds like your clutch isn't fully disengaging.

Thanks for your responses guys.

It ended up being my master cylinder. I purchased a overhaul kit and fixed it this morning. So all is well now :)
