KL-ZE massive hesitation?
KL-ZE massive hesitation?
It has the HEI mod, the blaster II.
I set the timing and it worked for a week, then started hesitating majorly.
changed O2 sensors, didn't fix the issue
changed spark plugs, the issue was fixed... for a week.
Now it's doing the same issue, and it's getting worse
I have a air fuel gauge, and whenever the misfiring occurs, the gauge fails to get a reading. I don't know how this relates to my issue
I want to think it's an ignition issue, but I'm not sure.
what happens:
sluggish. hits 3k revs and j-j-j-jerks. in order to continue driving, you have to drop it in gear and high rev it.
when on the highway, it'll drive normally, the air fuel gauge doesn't read correctly, and it completely loses power for a split second, gains it, then looses it, and causes it to jerk, jerk, jerk.
Any suggestions on what I should change/check, that'd be great.

I had the same thing, and it was the disti cap and rotor...
NOW.
To figure out whats goin on you NEED to do an entire tune up..plugs, wires, disty cap and rotor, filter (oil, fuel air) change all your liquids, check for vacume leaks, and set everything (TPS and IDLE, and what ever else you think should be set)
THEN we can figure out whats goin on, if that doesn't fix your problem,

might be my problem too! slightly different
my v6 is hesitating too... had replaced dist cap when it completely failed, and it worked for a short time.
Now it does this hesitation dance... but only when in low gears (1 or 2), usually when starting up from a stop or from cold. This makes it very tricky to pull out from a stop into traffic, to say the least. It *never* happens at higher speeds, on the highway, for example. Thankfully.
I've had it to two shops, my usual and a new one. Second one said it tested for having a failed Mass Air Flow gidget... and got me a new one (would have been over $400) but removed it and didn't charge when that didn't work. And gave up... told me to take it to mazda dealer who might have the old computer setup... the new one says the wrong thing apparently?
GAH!
I've been so wigged out about this for the last 8 months I'm thinking of getting rid of my all-time favorite baby car... I need it to work and no one can fix. So... anyone heard this one? Could it be the same dist cap crack thing? Could I keep my baby?

Take your car somewhere very dark...totally black and watch the spark plug caps for arcing. One of my mechanic friends suggested this to me for my hesitation problem.
I haven't tried it out yet, but it won't suprise me to find that I'm losing spark intensity and that's why the engine hesitates.
