Idle problems
I have a 1994 rs mx3 doch I4. I put the gs alternator in it just to keep the lights from going dim when i hit the brakes. It did not help and when I push the clutch in and hold the brakes to come to a stop the car jumps idle from 1000-1400 until i come to a complete stop. Does any one know what causes this? All the problems were the same before the alternator change.
Please search .....

I did search, and in that thread the guy with the problem isn't having the same problem im having, someone recommended changing the alternator, i have already done that, grounds are clean too and also added 2 extra grounds and a brand new battery. It only does it when i am coming to a stop with the clutch in and when i come to a complete stop it quits.

If your problem is that the car idles high in neutral until the car comes to a complete stop, welcome aboard. This seems to happen with all the Mx-3's, so I dare to say it's normal.
If your problem is that the engine speed bounces up and down rapidly when coming to a stop, there's a couple things you could do. I'm having this same bouncing up & down issue right now. If you CORRECTLY lower your idle speed, it seems to get rid of the bouncing. However, I find the car tends to idle too low by this point. I have a feeling that there's a problem with the Idle Air Control Valve.

What id like you to do is get some electrical tape and better seal these
indicated spots on your intake.

If you have a CAI like I do then ensure your lower throttle body connection to the intake is well sealed. I re used the old parts from the stock rubber intake and the hose is connected by a plastic male-male joint (assuming a hose is a female).
Try that and let me know how it works, I was messing with mine and it seemed to eliminate the idle up down when I brake.
