has anyone had extensive experience with that high temp engine paint?
I know they come in a few flavors at local stores
namely,
caliper paint at 500 degrees
engine paint at 1200 degrees
I've even seen some at 2k degrees, but they only had red, and I don't want red.
I want BLACK. Because my car is BLACK, my wheels are BLACK, my highlighs are BLACK, and I think I need a little more BLACK, only now under the hood!
I bought those crappy genie headers, and the blue paint just burned right off at day one, so I am particularly interested if that paint holds up well on headers

I have tried all kinds of paint for the headers, with no luck. Go buy header wrap and be done. As far as engine paint I use nothing but Dupli-color.

The paint I recommend is POR-15 MANIFOLD GRAY with their BLACK VELVET over top. Ithe the metal is properly cleaned and prepped I have yet to have this paint burn or flake. If it does burn or flake there is a 99.5% chance that there was still some sort of surface contamination on the metal. I painted a cast iron outdoor wood burning fireplace 4 years ago and still has not rusted through or burned off.
