Small buttons above bonnet release catch under steering whee

Post by turbine »

Not sure if its standard but on my mazda 1.8 (93) model above the pull-to-release bonnet leaver theres two very small rubber buttons. Does any one know what purpose they serve? I think they could be something for the clifford alarm system but ive pressed them and they dont seem to do anything.

any help appreciated

Those are the valet buttons for the Clifford. They are used for programming the module, as well as manually putting the car in and taking it out of valet mode. Valet mode disables the remote start function for when you are working on the vehicle.
