If its American, it will be the KL-DE. Anything is worth it if its free, but is it worth your time and effort to actually get it into the car? It all depends on what you want. If it were me I'd probably wait for a ZE.
KL-ZE Swap - OBX SS Headers - 2.5" Exhaust - Falken Azenis Tires - H&R Springs - ZX-2 Struts - CAI - Front & Rear Tower Bar - AWR Motor Mounts - 100hp wet shot (yet to be tested)

0-60 should be slitghtly better then the 0-60 times Probe GTs get.
At the 1/4mile your car should be able to run low to mid 15s. With a KLZE it can be low to high 14s.
Of course, depending on your mods.
K8 (MX3 stock engine) 130hp/115ft torque
KLDE 160/160
KLZE 200/160

If you are getting a free klde try and get a Millenia motor, 170hp/160tq and it will have the curved neck Intake for an easy install.

Take the free engine, and all the money you'd spend on a KLZE, put it into a turbo setup or some nitrous, or alot of bolt ons. You can take the winter to build it up.
I want a free motor.
