Cruise To Meeting Of The Mazda's - August 11th

Post by Nd4SpdSe »

Well, since it was mentioned, might as well start a thread for organizing a cruise to MOTM. Show is listed to start at 11am, and as well, the gates open at 11am as well; there's no pre-show roll in, so there's more likely going to be a significan't line-up at 11am. So was thinking about how and when we'd organise the cruise there.

Was thinking of meeting at Hutches, we gotta go up Centential anyway, so it works as a meeting spot. I was thiking about maybe meeting at the gas station intersecting Highway 3 and Highway 56 (Centenial) as a common spot for those comming from Toronto and Niagara, since most Niagara-ians are mostly North of the region, it shouldn't be much of a detour except for those who live a few km from Highway 3 like myself, but I like cruises, so I don't care :)

If meeting at Hutches is ok, this is what I would like to propose for meeting and leaving times:

1) Meet at Hutches for 10am, leave there at 10:30 and roll in at TMSP for the gate opening at 11am.

2) Meet at Hutches for 10:30am, leave there at 11 and roll in at TMSP for 11:30, hopefully missing most of the line up so not really missing anything except for waiting at the gates.

I'm for #2, but I'm curious about 2 potential problems. 1; punctuality. People seems to get at he meeting spot when we're suppose to leave and/or we're still waiting for people, so I'm really tempted to take the suggestion I got organising the MMM cruise and not give any options, just do option #1, cause we'll probably end up leaving at 11am anyway and 2; parking. I don't know if it'll be easier to park together or harder if we arrive later or not...

I'd like to get this organised by Thursday night, I'll be driving back up Friday right after work.

Here is the projected MX-6 Club route and stops. Let me know what you think and we can just organize 1 large group.

i think if ppl are gonna be late for the cruise, its not fair to those who are on time and have to wait

I agree. If you're not there on time, we'll see you at the event. It's just that simple.

I agree as well. 10:30 we're gone, no matter if someone called and is 5 minutes away. You know where we'll be. The drive is super straight forward.

Follow Centenial Parkway all the way pretty much to the end, it's like a 20min drive. FYI, so if your following it by name, it's starts as Highway #20, but after the top of the hill, it changes to Highway #56. After you'll get to an intersection with pretty much nothing but a gas station on the right, turn right there, that's Highway #3. Follow that for maybe another 5-10 minutes, you'll drive through a town and cross the bridge, not long after the bridge. I think it's literally the second left after the bridge, but you can't really miss it cause there's a HUGE sign for TMSP right there, so turn left there, drive about 5 min and you'll easilly see it on on the left.

So if you can get to Hutches but dont know how to get to TMSP, although it's long road, it's only 3:
- Follow "Centenial Parkway" South
- Turn Right at the lone gas station onto Highway #3
- Turn Left after the bridge where you see the huge Toronto Motorsports Park sign.
