Flyrtle Fladness 3.0, 09/23/07 NOW ON SUNDAY!@!@!@!

Post by hppwdn »

This year Flyrtle Fladness, our smaller, Florida version of Myrtle Madness, will move from August to September. The location hasn't changed and will still be at Moroso Motorsports Park/Okeeheelee Park.

Friday September 21st: Midnight Madness @ Moroso Motorsports Park
Gates open at 6PM, track closes at 1AM.
17047 Beeline Hwy.
Jupiter, FL 33478

Sunday September 23rd: Flyrtle Fladness Official BBQ & Meet at Okeeheelee Park (Osceola Pavillion)
7715 Forest Hill Blvd.
West Palm Beach, FL 33413
Okeeheelee Park

PS - My built KL MX3 will be racing at Moroso that night. Hopefully pushing a ton of power.

Can't wait to see everyone again. Flyrtle 2005 had a ton of MX3s, but Flyrtle 2006 only saw two of us. I wanna see all the MX3s again.

EDIT: Since Flyrtle will span a weekend this year for those who want to come to the track I'll be having a get together at my house on Saturday 09/22 to celebrate our track acheivements/failures and welcome anyone coming in Saturday night for the Sunday bbq.

The hotel we usually use t is Holiday Inn @ Lake Worth Road and the Turnpike (exit 93). It's very close to the park for the bbq.

EDIT: 07/17/07
This year I'm doing trophies for the winners.
Fastest All Motor (includes any all motor MX3s, MX6s, or Probes from the track meet the 21st)
Fastest Period (includes all MX3s, MX6s, & Probes from the track meet on the 21st)
Best of Show (MX3, Probe, MX6 - People's Choice)
Best of Show-Everyone Else (For all those that have sold their cars and moved on to other vehicles)

EDIT: 07/23/07
The shirt for this year is pretty much done. This year they're gonna be black and look like this.

count me in. i won't bother with moroso though, i don't have enough power to even bother drag racing my MX-3 (maybe in a year or two, after i get the house and a turbo swap). i have a new car for my daily driver, so the mazda will be in tip top for me to driver her down there. it's about darn time i'm able to make it to a meet. i will keep my eyes peeled here for more info as things develop.

There's usually a caravan down from Orlando with all the probe guys. Once they start organizing it I'll post the info over here.

For tampa area guys the carpool is predominantly MX6 guys. I'll post that info as well when it gtes together.

Yep, everyone's invited. I provide all the food and rent the pavillion so it's free for everyone who shows up. I do appreciate contributions if people are so inclined. I try and have something special for everyone who donates too. Paypal is sweetrecords@hotmail.com for donations.

We usually get a handful of Proteges, RX7s, RX8s. This year I know there'll be a couple Mazdaspeed3's & Maxdaspeed6's too.

I used to live in Miami. I actually lived there for the first Flyrtle in 05.

As for contributions usually people just paypal me whatever they can afford to pitch in. Some people throw in a little the day of instead. It's just to help cover the pavillion rental and all the food/drink for the day since it's free for everyone.

I should be getting tshirts made again this year too. I like to make sure anyone who pitches in ahead of time gets a free shirt.

This is what last years looked like.

the missus and i discussed the date conflict. she knows i've been trying to go to this for a few years now, she's content to celebrate her b-day on the friday or saturday before, and that's fine with me. she's excited about the meet too, she loves cars.

i will be hailing from orlando/winter springs on that sunday (sept 23). i'll be looking for a caravan, provided i can keep up with my itty bitty unboosted motor. anyone interested?

Hey everyone.

If anyone is coming from the Tampa Bay area let me know and we can caravan together.

I've been to all the Flyrtles so far, it's always a real good time.

Let me know if you're down for the drive.
