actually I do use them in the winter when I fill up for gas... there was one time when I started filling up, got back in my car and came back out and touched the edge of my car and I made a huge static spark! I kind of stood there freaked out because I just realized I could've caught my car on fire or something...
so I do press mine in the winter.... it seems like I produce more static electricity then

Not only is air drier (moisture is a very subtle but very good conductor; like a very weak situation of the ol' toaster in the bathtub example, so having it around will generally keep things less static-y), but you're more than likely wearing a lot more layers, all of which are rubbing against each other and stuff, so yeah, expect more static!Mooneggs wrote:it seems like I produce more static electricity then :confused2:
Also I thought it was just some non-fabric surface for INCREDIBLY meticulous people to press instead of having to put wear on their upholstery, or some sort of strategic point where the door was easier to open or something (obviously as it's about as far from the hinge as you can get) but it's actually BEHIND where I sit just slightly, so it's not at all convenient to open the door with the "touch" button. I just thought it was some ill-planned "feature".
Interesting to find out it's a "ground". I wonder why they'd make something with that function out of plastic instead of metal?

not sure but it works! if you take off your door panel there is a wire that runs from behind the button.Goland wrote:Interesting to find out it's a "ground". I wonder why they'd make something with that function out of plastic instead of metal?
