Master or slave cylinder?

Post by sammyj18 »

Hey Guys,

I am having a problem with my clutch. The pedal is soft and falls to the floor after one shift. The fluid level is good so I have it narrowed down to the clutch master cylinder or slave. Is there a good way to tell which of the two is the problem? When the problem started it only lasted for a day, then drove fine for a week, then the problem suddenly reappeared this time for good.

Thanks,
Sam

OK so I am about to remove my clutch master cylinder. I removed the bolt on the engine side and from the shop manual drawing it appears there is a second bolt from the inside. Do I need to take apart the pedal assembly to get to this bolt? How hard is it to get at?

Thanks
Sam

the nut your looking for is on the inside fire wall and is rather difficult to reach but it can be done. it is a tight space...
