cleaning headlights?
cleaning headlights?
I was just wondering if there was something I could use to clean the headlight with instead of wet sanding? If anyone has suggestions let me know.

hi,
When i made clear lenses your of the oem lights, i wet sanded them down first, but that was just to make the inside smooth. Then i went with turtle wax polishing compound, then to some crest toothpast, then i used some singer sewing machine oil and a dremal polising pads. then the lenses were as clear as could be

Re: cleaning headlights?
There used to be a FAQ thread on this in the Appearance Forum but I don't see it now. Here are a few links that should help.D'sMx6 wrote:I was just wondering if there was something I could use to clean the headlight with instead of wet sanding? If anyone has suggestions let me know.

Just wet wet sand with 1200 grit, clean real good with soap and water so as not to let any chemicals that will make the clear coat paint that will be applied.
