temp guage sensor?

Post by lycanthrope »

hopefully this takes...

my temperature guage is doing a downward surge when i accelerate, when i get back in to 2500 rpm or less it goes back to the middle temp reading...

i've checked my coolant level and it's topped off, also the car gets a little past the middle mark if i'm in traffic over ten minutes...

other than that the temp is normal...

thanks in advance,
leon

Sounds like you might have a air bubble in the system. When you rev the car higher the water pumps faster (W. pump is driven by the crank pulley). So that the water level is dropping below the sensor when you rev. Or you might just have a bad water temp sensor.

1) Flush the system off air bubbles
2) Check if the rad fan is turning on properly
3) Check if the thermostat is ok and installed properly
