Tires rubbing

Post by Whitey »

So I lowered my mx and put the rims on today and went for a drive. The tire were rubbing on the strut post about 1.5-2" below the strut plate that holds the spring. It is actually melting the tire. Tire size is 205/50R16. Has anyone ever encountered this problem?

Sounds like the ET value of your rim is too high for this tire/rim combo. How much did you lower it? Maybe the camber of your suspension should be adjusted and that might solve your problem. If not, you'll need spacers for your rims.
