the problem i had when i did it, i didnt take off the bracket that holds it to the side of the block. theres 3 bolts and with that off bam should come right off. if you already did that may have to get a pry bar and pry it out. hope that helps

Remember, there's a C ring that is holding the cv axle in the tranny. Just get a pry bar and a hammer and bang it a couple times.

i tried using a pry bar n nearly took out my eye. u can use a couple things to pop it out, a slide hammer or the way i did it. i used a large coal chissel n hammered it between the joint n trans., did u disconnect the tie rod, and lower control arm so u have more room to work?

it doesnt take much force cus u just take a hammer n hit the chissel....since the chisel is in an arrow kind of shape itll separate it pretty easily......just b careful to only hit the chisel

I couldn't get the drivers side out when i put in my new clutch and flywheel... I left it connected to the tranny when I dropped it. Never ended up being able to get it out actually. I forget if you HAVE to take the passenger side out to drop the tranny... but if you can't get it out you might wanna consider just dropping the tranny with it still in.

im having the same problem...

i cant get the drivers side out worth my life..i got the passengers side out...so if i just pull the tranny now..it will be ok..im not taking it completely out..just enough to repalce the clutch...or do i have to take it all the way out..and im not pulling the motor..just the tranny..

is it possible to pull the tranny w/o taking the drivers side out??
is it possible to replace the cluth w/o taking the tranny all the way out??

I left the drivers side axle in the tranny when I dropped the tranny. If you're just dropping the tranny on the ground you don't need to take the axle out, it just makes it a little bit easier. Just get the axle outta the hub (I'm assuming you've done that already) and drop the tranny. Make sure the transmission doesn't land on the axle too.

You'll needa take the transmission completely off.

And good luck puttin the transmission back on. That was a pain in the a--, as I didn't have a hoist and was kind of scrawny back then too. Ended up getting my neighbour to help out... I lifted the tranny up underneath it while he tried to line everything up and get a bolt in.
