headlight being stupid

so my passenger side low beam headlight is never on when i turn my lights on, but if i get out and pop the hood and punch the headlight assembly it comes on and stays on until i shut my lights off again....whats up with that?

That used to happen to me but it was the driver side. Never had to punch it though, just hadda give it a real mean look and maybe make some threats. Eventually, had to replace the bulb.

Replace the bulb and clean the contacts on the wiring harness with some sand paper.
