Have you changes that O2 sensor? On the SOHC the should be changes about every 60000-90000km. Even then they are pretty dead. The stupid thing about them is that they can be totally dead and not throw a code. I converted my old car to a 4 wire O2 because they have a little more bandwidth that a OE single wire and isn't dependant on EGT to get the sensor up to temp and the other reason is I was a bunch of them I stripped of scrap engine at a JDM shop. As I remember my mileage jump from about 10L/100km up to 8L/100km.

Pin hole leaks in your exhaust especially before the Cat can equal a small fuel economy loss. The flex join is the usual place to find this leaks at the best of times. On the other end pinhole leaks in the gas filler neck and gas tank will affect not only fuel economy but power as well. An oversized aftermarket exhaust and muffler can have a negative effect by killing off the bottom/ mid power.

A bad chassis and engine ground will also affect fuel economy.

These three things should made a night and day difference not only in fuel comsumption but power you didn't know you lost as well as long as the compression is still good.

In the end before scrapping my car I was averaging 7.3L/100km or about 32mpg in mixed city/high traffic.

I've replaced O2 sensor and flex pipe but still get around 11L/100km.

I'll pour in that injector/valve cleaner and see what happens. Any other suggestions?

another easy check is your oil pan drain bolt. Had my oil done at a place and they didn't not tighten the bolt properly and my oil pressure went done (didn't lose a lot of oil so no crazy damage). Cut my mileage in half

just something to check
