93 MX3 Engine Swap
Will the Honda B16 fit in my mx-3 withou serious modification. I own a 1.6l sohc
I will be 17 in march and have a limited budget. I would like to race my mx-3 either drag or time attack. Should I fix up the stock motor or Swap a new engine? keep in mind money is an issue. What motor would be good for a swap? How much do they run? Where can i get them?

Ohh my lord.
Ok, listen to me.. Completely evacuate the idea of putting a honda motor in your car right now. RIGHT NOW I SAID!
Have you done it? Ok good.. Because the idea of putting a honda motor in a mazda makes me sick in the pit of my stomach. I dotn care what any of your friends say.. Im guessing you probally have a buddy that has a honda or something and he suggested it? Thats usually the case.
Well let me tell you this.. it will cost you money and there is no way around it.
That engine in your car now is basically useless so forget doing anything with it. Your best and cheapest option is a BP swap. You can find them in Protege LX's and Ford escort gt's. They are 1.8l and dohc. Alot better than whats in your car now. Jesus.. I dont think you know how gutless a b16 is. Even a jspec one is crap. My girlfriends escort gt will blow it away any day.
If you plan on doing that there is definately alot of stull youll have to change.. Right now I can say.. engine, transmission, cv shafts, mounts, ecu.. and you will definately want a new clutch. Then comes the question if your car is allready standard.. because dont think youre getting away with the automatic slushbox. That will add extra cost to it. Hmm if I was to guess the price for it all.. I would say... hmmm.. 1000 bucks just to be safe. There is always a few added expenses. You might do it for cheaper depending on where you get your motor from and if you can do the work yourself.
Good luck with it bub.. Ohh and with your other post.. Your water pump is gone... thats why theres coolant everywhere.
By the way, 94blaze1.6 fills your head with lies.
