unlike other imports, the mx-3 has only one-generation, which further implicates its uniqueness

I can entirely see where Red Egg is coming from.
There does appear to be at least a nod to the design of the E -Type Jag in that poking shnoz with its cheeky oval maw.

It might not have been intentional, but it's there - and may well have helped Mazda sell more than a few of the rare little beasties over here in the UK - based entirely on looks alone!

Incidentally, the concept picture MX-3s nose does conjure up shades of the XKJ-220 Jaguar super car - or whatever the right number was.
