usually cars are completely original a designer sits down and just starts scribbling without even thinking.. if there by chance is an incfluence its not going to be a car its going to be an example a curve from a fork they saw at a restaraunt or a picture that had a nice line stuff like that... the mx-3 is an extremely unique car as i dont know many that dont have the little back window behind the main side window.. what year did the mx-6 come out?? and mx-5? these cars are all similar in some aspects so maybe whatever came first outta those would be the influence?

Re: MX3 and 1960s Jaguar E-Type
Very sweet looking 'E' and MX-3 too. Dunno about any intentional jag-influence-factor on the MX-3 design but I can still see where you're coming from. Have you checked the original MX-3 design concept sketches from the main page?Red Egg wrote:The front hood and the headlights of the MX3 seem to have been influenced by the 1960s Jaguar E-Type minus the chrome bumpers and trim. Compare:

Rest of the sketches are here http://www.mx-3.com/history/
If the original front end design concept wasn't influenced by the jag, it seems the Erebuni aftermarket "fishmouth" certainly could have been...
