Fastest legal Road car in the world

Im sure I have posted this in the wrong place. So moderator please move this accordingly. I watched a program called fith gear here in the UK and this car was on.

Some guy owns a car that he bought for like £60, then slowley built it in to a monster. Its not pretty in my eyes but hell its fast.

I watched that lastnight and he mentioned that over the time hes had the car he had spent $100,000 on that car. Cool car, but not my cup of tea!

Correction he's spent £100,000 on the car, not $100,000.

Not my cup of tea either but its quite an achievement.
