Red top optama problems?

This forum is for discussion of topics relating to MX-3 lighting such as Headlights, Tail lights, Accessory Lights, Interior Lights, Etc. For example, Rear Euro Altezza Style Tail lights, Headlight units, LED's, HID's, Bulbs, Interior lights, Neons, Strobes, Auxillary Lights/Fogs or anything filament and gas discharge related.
Also anything dealing with the elctrical system.

Red top optama problems?

I bought a red top optama battery late 04,now on my 3rd battery ,they are warrantied for 3 yrs so I keep getting them replaced , anyone else have problems with these batteries?

Had mine for about 5 yrs and no probs so far so good, knock on wood. Drained it fully once, bad me.

I've had 2 for almost 3 years I believe. So far no problems. I did drain them once during winter storage cause i forgot to turn off my dome light.

I've had them in several cars, put em through hell n back for over 4 years each no problems.

Have your alternator checked as it may be causing the problem. Other causes are excessive heat (wrap the battery with a thermal reflective materal available from http://www.jegs.com in the exhaust section). Corroded connections and weak grounds (usually from corrosion) can also cause this. If you have a stereo that continually drains it dead it can do that over time. The alternator needs to charge atleast what your peak amperage draw reaches.
