Quick question on how wide is ok.

Hey peeps.

I would just like to know if 17x8 rims with 205/40 tyres will fit nicely without any strut rubbing?

Depends on the offset.

however, I think a 205 tire is not wide enough for a 8-inch wheel though...

205 seies typically go on a 7-inch wide wheel, 215 on a 7.5, 225 on an 8...

You might have trouble with an 8-inch wide wheel... finding an offset that wont rub the strut or the fender may be difficult.

8" +30 offset should fit. i dont have rims on my mx3 myself so i havent taken exact measurements

205 is good for up to a 8" wide wheel. step up to a 215 later if u feel u need more grip.
