Fuel indicator needle always up

Post by Tropical Emerald 1993 »

My fuel indicator needle is ALWAYS showing how much fuel I got even when the engine is off. Any explanation for this?

At least yours tells you how much fuel you have. Mines broken.

And it's because it's an old system, not like those new fangled electrical guages that dance when you turn your car on.

Nah it just means you got a full tank.

ok jk

hmm seems that the needle is stuck. Take out the cluster and check that.If thats a no go, take the fuel pump out (easy task) from under the rear seat and inspect the floater.. i bet thats jammed . You dont needto replace the fuel pump just the lil sensor.. or well the assembly from a junk yard if thats the case. (fuel pump is the cylinder looking metal thing)

your needle is not stuck... my car does it too. and my gas gague works fine.

nothing to worry about, as long as the gague tells you how much gas you have.
