Custom intake manifold??
B6 guys..What are you doing for manifolds? Thinking since I am going standalone that a custom manifold would help too....get rid of the stupid VIRS system and get a better throttle body. Help?

M1 Miata intake manifolds. You have to cut off the throttle neck, weld the IAC chamber closed and turn it into a velocity stack behind a 75mm BBK Mustang Throttle Body
Well, thats what we did for now...lol
I can make custom Intake Manifolds aswell. I've got a one off design I'm going to use probably next year and one design based off what the Pro Street V8 guys are using which is what I might try out before next year. I'm broke or I'd be using the new design which to my knowledge hasn't been tryed yet

Every little bit helps. There are several things you can change on intake manifold designs to gain power. The hardest part is keeping the power band in a useable range. Forced induction (excluding n2o) doen't need as much plenum volume as NA cars do for the peak power numbers. The biggest restricion on the top side of the power band is runner length. But by shortening them you also lose low end power. The design you chose should depend mainly on your power band you'll be utilizing, unfortunately you can't have it all but my new design may offer the closest thing possible. I'm not releasing details on it until after I've fabricated it, tested it on my car and patented the design. It couples several technologies from various design applications (not just automotive). Features no moving parts or BS...just physics
I actually have several design ideas for intake manifolds, 1 off cylinder heads....never been done before, cam & lifter replacements for electronic valve control/actuation (BMW has this technology on the market now, but I'm wanting to do universal for existing cars
). I had the idea of electronic spool assist a really long time ago, then Mazda announced it was using it 3 years later on a hydrogen powered Renisis Rotary (thats was before concept Evolve...RX-8). Oh well, there is always tomarrow and maybe one day I'll beat em to it...
