BPT Flywheel good for FWD
That Flywheel on the BPT looks kinda gargantuan. Lol. Anyone with an NA BP have a big stock flywheel cause this one is huge. Cuase I need to know before I buy just a clutch.

you can use the flywheel if you use the gtx clutch with it. thats what im doing but i cant say how it is since its not running yet. a couple guys on clubprotege did it and had success you can look over there. i think a guy named lex was doing it for a while and said it grabbed good.

Get the same flywheel for whatever transmission you are using. Otherwise you may run into issues. I doubt that the clutch will be the same as the input shaft on the fwd tranny. I got the flywheel out of the car that the tranny came from. The gtx flywheel and the fwd flywheel are very different. Get the proper one.. I got mine for fifty bucks. You dont want to have the car finished only to find it the starting motor wont engage or you cant disengage the clutch or something, which is highly possible.
In fact.. come to think of it.. Im almost 100% sure that the gtx flywheel will not work with any other tranmission then the one it was designed for. Get the right one for gods sake and save yourself heartache in the future.
I remember calling corksport when I was doing my swap.. I asked something about the brackets on the g series transmission I got and they told me I should have used the mx3 tranny! Thats INSANE. It would have exploded within the first ten minutes.
Take my advice.. Buy the exact flywheel for whatever transmission you use.. The distances on the housing for the master cyl and the throwout bearing have to be precise and the gtx flywheel and clutch are much thinner than the bp one.. I doubt you would even be able to disengage it.

you can definately use the gtx flywheel with a FWD g series trans. you just have to use a gtx PP and disk. the spline count is the same.. all works fine i know of several gtx escort gt guys using this combo, and someone with an NA BP in a 323 using it as well.
also, afaik the gtx and gtr flywheels are the same size. i have a gtr flywheel in my basement if someone wants to measure a gtx one to compare...
