The NA BP in the Protege LX is the same as the BPT with few minor exceptions...

BPT has 8.2 CR, NA BP has 8.8/9.0 CR depending on the year.

BPT has no VICS, NA BP does

BPT has better flowing intake manifold than the NA BP.

BPT has head restrictions that help produce *swirl* that aids low end torque.

IMO I would take the better condition of the 2 motors and use the NA BP pistons, BPT intake manifold, NA BP head, and go from there.

The blocks and everything else are the exact same.
GS + BP + T3 + 9lb flywheel - some dead weight = ;)
