Cluth not fully disengaging
Hey i got The second ZE running and it runs greak so smooth, untill you have to shift lol. Getting the car into first you have to push the clutch in so hard and it might go in withought having to turn the car off put it in gear then turn it on again. or when it does go in and your foot is off the break it will start rolling but the clutch is pushed in all the way. does anyone know what this might be, i was thinking the clutch line swelling or something, Or maybey the realease bering cuz it looked a bit different then the stock one. I have an ACT Street disc heavy duty clutch. Should it be identicle?

clutch pedal free height and free play have been checked and adjusted.
what im concerned about is how the slave cylinder is "aimed" at the fork.... the piston is almost all the way in and its angled out to the contact spot... on my BPT its not like this, so im wondering maybe there's spacers for the slave cylinder to correct this? and also it could be a swelling line with the heavyier pressure plate, but in the back of my head im thinking my car is a year older and was in worse condition and i haven't had any problems with the disengadgement of my clutch and it to is an ACT with the heavy duty pressure plate......

Shimming the slave master cylinder and a SS clutch line should alleviate the constant engagement issue.
Do a search on disengagement problems for ACT clutches on this board - there should be more than a few posts about how to do this - from what i remember its very easy and very inexpensive.

I have the same clutch with my ZE and ahd this problem at first. Adjust the rod under the pedal all the way out so it goes in to the cylinder farther. Another thing people do is make a longer rod in the slave cylinder. I did this and it never worked. I spent alot of time messing with that clutch. But the clutch itself is awesome so its worth it.

um the slave cylinder and the angle its at? its already set at a position.. has 2 bolts. You cant adjustr that unless you shimm the tube thingy.

hey
Hey i took the car into a tranny/clutch shop and they are dealing with it, i gave the guy the option to shim the Master slave cylender and he said he would try to fab something up??? he thinks i should get a new flywheel because myn may have been reserfaced too far or something. Of course all of this is speculation untill we crack the tranny but im trying to avoid that. Does anyone have a better explaination of shimming the slave cylender?
another question would be if the release bering for the clutch is supposed to look a little differet than the stock one, it was befier but was it suposed to look identicle to the stock one, they were similer.
Thanx for yout help.

ACT clutchs for some reason do this. Others and I just made a slightly longer rod for the slave cylinder. I had a whole write up on it posted somewhere like 2 yrs ago.. Let me see if I can dig it up somewhere...
