Best year to buy

Post by Balthazar »

Hello all,

I'm looking at buying an MX-3 in Vancouver (this isn't a WTB post, that goes in another forum, I know :) ).

What I'd like to know is a little info on what the best year to buy is. I'm looking at getting a manual transmission with a 4 cylinder. Not really looking to do any mods/upgrades. My concerns are fuel efficiency and reliability.

Basically, I want to know if any years happen to have a "high lemon ratio", or are known to be troublesome. Any other tips are appreciated.

Thanks

if you're looking to keep the stock motor then get anything from 94 up. The 92 and 93 came with lower power engines

However have the wiring harness you want if you want to upgrade to a BP/BPT, plus their's a turbo-kit available for that engine. But your not planing to do any upgrades, so that's kinda pointless.

92-93's came with a 88hp SOHC 4cyl
94's and up came with a 105hp DOHC 4cyl.

Dude you live near me, definately go with a 94+ mx3 RS, they have a nicer dash and have a much better motor.
