If it's not a Mazda K or B series engine, it will NOT fit without customization. Plus that's not a Mazda engine, that's a Ford Duratec 3.0L. But do you really want to go through that work for ameasly 17hp over a KLZE? And I can't image all the electrical work that wouldbe involved, new engines are way mroe complicated, i'd be affraid. But if you want to be the first, go right ahead.

Why not just find and put in a 210hp GTR BPT, take a bit of work since you'll need to get some 4cyl Mx-3 parts, it's just not as easy and the pull-out-pop-in of a KLZE. Even then, any BPT could easilly go over 210hp with just upping the boost, even a Turbo-KL would be easier and give you more power.

It's the same motor as in the Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute, Mazda designed their own head for that motor that gave it the extra power. I believe my parents Escape is advertised at 201hp. The MazdaSpeed6 comes with 275hp, but it's an AWD turbo 2.3L 4cyl.

You gotta think logically tho, would it be worth it, all the work, money and time, especially for such a small gain?

Dont you also get like +40ft toque with those Mazde Speed engines over the KLZE?

Why not just save all that time and money, get a KLDE, bore and stroke, forged internals... just build it up.

What Rebel2k has done has been amazing. Espically his numbers is what is killing me. HIS HP AND TORQUE ARE ALMOST THE SAME
2008 Mazda 3
1993 MX3 GS
KLZE, Fidanza flywheel, KL31 CAMs, South Bend Stage I Clutch, Pacesetter STS, SS AutoChromes, Magnaflow muffler, 2.25' Exhaust, CAI, Blaster Coil HEI, KLDE Valvetrain, 5 Speed Swap

The MazdaSpeed6 is 274hp and 280ft/lbs of torque, so that's about 115 more torque over the KLZE @ 165, but that engine is not even close to being compatible to an Mx-3. I can't imagine the price of acquiring the drivetrain, especially since that's a C$40'000 limited-production car, finding a "donor" MazdaSpeed6 will be ultra rare and super-expensive. Those are still numbers easilyl acquirable on a BPT or Turbo-KL

My friend is buying one as soon as he gets back home.

Thats turbo charged though, isnt it?
I still would rather have a built KLZE with a turbo then that. Rebel2k4 is getting like 380hp/torque out of his untuned setup

If it is turbocharged, that sounds really weak espically since a 3.0L V6. I mean, the Evo and STI have 2 less cylinders yet make close to 300hp/torque

I hope so, doing the MazdSpeed6 swap, of whatever engine would probably cost 5-10x as much.

Youd also have to consider the transmission.. youd need custom axles, custom shift linkage. and the Mazdaspeed 6 is a 6 speed too...
