Head Gasket Doesnt Line up

Post by Bumpysbro »

More then 8 water passages are blocked. The Head and the BLock both match up but the gasket doesnt. i have a B6 DOHC but on the side of the head it says B55. is there a diff head gasket out there? or is it supposed to be like that?

Bot b6-DEs and B5-zes have the same head, b551- (number of version).

I'm not sure for the blocked passages. I'd see if the dealer sold you the right gasket.

yes they are like that. different companies that make gaskets choose to block others off. as long as your oil passages are open thas what really matters.

For some reason I think maybe the Late 80s GTX would have been youbest bet from before. Unless that has the same style. Good like Bumpy. Oh by the way was I right. Was the B5 head from a 95 and up Mazda Protege cause they had the 1.5 than I believe.

:o you're selling a 240!? That's a shame... shoulda put the SR20DET in it. More fun than an mx3 just because of the RWD!

What kind of shape is it in and how much were you thinking of selling it for?
