For filling motor mounts what is the EXACT stuff I use? Everyone says construction grade poly urathane, but there is litterally 22 different kinds of it at menards. I bought the tube that says Polyurathane heavy duty adhesive, is this the stuff? There was also Black Jack roofing stuff in a calk tube, someone tell me what I am doing here.
much thanks
This might be a silly question, but Why would you want to fill in your motor mounts. How does it help the way the engine or car runs.
Owner of 7 different cars, 5 being convertibles. 1990 Miata is one of my summer fun cars. I enjoy that car so much, I thought owning a MX3 would be fun also. Drive with your top open or top down. See my car web site at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/816145

If you do a KL swap, out mounts were only meant to handle a K8 with 115 lbs of torque. When you fo to 165 lbs of torque, firming up the lower motor mounts is pretty much mandatory.
Thanks Hppwdn, that is how you are "supposed" to do it. Purpose urethane is alot more likely to perform its job as opposed to glue or sealant that is designed totally differently. Urethane is a chemically made rubberized liquid that comes in thousands of forms.
I'll go ahead and rubutt anyone who sais that the Home Depot stuff is the same or good enough in that it would be like saying that all plastics are the same. We very well know that is not true and since they are both an engineered product they vary greatly from one to another.
I wrote a quick FAQ in here last night (in a different thread) that I've asked Jeff or Barry to post. I'll include the pics of when I did Perry's for visual help. It should be up as soon as the Mods post it.
