Stumbling, hesitaion wandering idle

Post by Wino »

Hi guys, First of all, Thanks to all who helped with the hei mod advise it worked quite well

I have another question. The car after a short period of warm up starts to stumble, hesitate and have a warndering idle. It is also getting shits of gas mileage and seems to be running rich. The front O2 looks to be running rich all the time with a reading of 0,7 volts constantly. I checked the Ect and its good. Plugs, wires , fuel filter, air filter have all been replaced.

Any suggestions guys?

Are you getting any codes?
Check Coolant temparature sensor, o2 sensors and maybe EGR solenoid (if you have an EGR system).
Coolant temp sensor is cheap and easy to replace and o2 sensors are rated only for 60k-75k miles - if you engine has more miles than that it is a good idea to replace them. If you are not afraid of cutting and splicing wires you can get an universal 4-wire sensor at maybe 1/10th price of an oem sensor.
You may also want to check up on the TPS adjustments.

I have some similar problems too.

in neutral clutch out, it rises until 2000rpm (or around that).
Can hear the VRIS opening and closing, if I tap the gas it sometimes stalls.

If I put the clutch in, ut goes down to 650-700 and is stable (sometimes when driving, if I put it into neutral it dies, or stumbles and starts back up).

any hints to what I should check?
