hey man, same thing happened to me durring the winter on one of my blown struts...i'd take it for a wash, and the next day it was stuck, there was litterally nothing between the wheel and my fender..and when i hit a bump..WAHBAM. my car would bounce huge...

now the strut that it occcured on was blown at the time, so that was a factor, and also it was about -35 plus windchill...

that was winter, so your strut isnt' frozen. now, your strut doesn't have very much play you said. Is it stuck? is there less wheel gap than there should be? is your strut leaking?

look into KYB struts, 140ish for two shipped to your door. And you can install them yourself, it took me an hour to do my back struts (with new springs too)

wow yeah thats chilly...is it better weather out now?

for tools, your gonna need the following. (this is what i used, might varie for you)

-Breaker bar
-14mm and 17mm sockets (long ones, get a coupel of each)
-Rachet as well as swivels adapters and extentions
-Torque wrench if you wanna do it right
-liquid wrench to get the bolts off cuz they will be tough (or WD40)
-jack and stands
-spring compressor - rent it from part source or were ever..its free, but you put down at 130 dollar deposit. You get it all back when your done.
-a buddy to help
-beer
-1-2 hours

if you dont' have the above listen, go out and freakin buy them, because you'll use them later..most of it is just stuff you should have already. good luck!

get zx2 s/r struts if your getting lowering springs..if not, KYB GR-2

sorry for the thread-jack. What are the non-lowering springs available for mx-3? Been looking for that for a long time - thinking of getting protege springs ....
