You can, but if you're going to actually drive the car that way, it's advisable that you switch the VAF under the hood from the JE50 to the KL02 model.

K my question

If the je50 is the k8's vaf, wouldnt it be wise to keep that since im using the k8 ecu?

also my mechanic's boss is asking me if the engine harness hooks up, when he says this he's talking about the ecu correct?

No, because you're using different sized injectors.

Yes. You can tell your mechanic the harness is a perfect match on both the engine side and the computer side.

Hmm one more, thanks L you've been a big help.

If i used k8 ecu
k8 vaF
KLDE engine (2.5 v6)
I just change the injectors?
Also tranny/clutch just bolt back up the k8 correct?

If you want to risk running lean at WOT, and risk blowing up your engine, go right ahead.

The K8 engine uses 170-180cc injectors and the KL engines use 220cc. If you put in a KL you need to use the KL injectors. I would suggest also going to the junkyard and getting a KL ECU and KL02 VAF.

As of July 2011 the MX3 has been retired and sold.

actually i think u have to run ecu and vaf as a pair, ur engine definately wont run right with the k8 ecu and je50vaf but itll still run, dont mix and match...ull need the 2.5 ecu eventually tho so if u can find it grab it

thanks. For now
Ima drop the engine in.
Use k8:
k8 exhaust manifold
k8 ecu/vaf
k8 tranny/clutch.

Then ima drive over to local but distant junk yard and find correct ecu.

Or you could just do it the easy way and go on Probe Talk For Sale Forum and find someone selling a KL02 and have it delivered to your doorstep.
