Strait neck manifold in an mx-3
Strait neck manifold in an mx-3
Yes this is my first post but i remember a while back there was a discussion about the long strait neck ze IM not fitting, today I did it. and unlike those other guys, i'll gladly post pics when I figure out how. On a side note, don't worry about welcoming me to the site because I've been here for almost 2 years.

screw the curveneck
You can use the staright neck without any problems. You need to modify the rear tranny mount os its pushing the motor up and foward a bit so its out of the way of the master cylinder. You also need to make sure its solid so it don't rock back and forth and hit.
Also need to relocate the battery the rear. Patdiesel I think has this setup.I've also heard stores of this setup chirping 4th gear in an mx3

I doubt it chirped 4th gear because the straight neck is not much better then the curved ze(millinia) if its even better at all. would need dnyo to prove it cause the diff would be so small.
UNLESS the car had other mods also..thats alwasy possible.

It's been argued over and over again, but no one has shown any proof.XxantwawnxX wrote:I doubt it chirped 4th gear because the straight neck is not much better then the curved ze(millinia) if its even better at all. would need dnyo to prove it cause the diff would be so small.

I have one and would be the first to agree that there is no real difference in power. A few ponies by the dyno, but you cannot feel it and it won't really help in racing. I did it just for the cool factor.

It bolts right in, the only thing that needs to change it the piece that the throttle cable attaches to and pulls on (switch to stock). Yea it's close to the break booster, but IT DOESN'T HIT. I guess you also need to move the battery, that's why i got dryer hose attaching the VAF. Just remember, my engine bay doesn't normally look this ghetto. If anyone has a public web space, I can put a link to the pics on. I never did it for bragging rights or performance over the ms8, this is for the people who got sent a strait neck and are stuck using the K8 IM
