HEI MOD ?
IN the FAQ section it says that you dont have to cut any of the disty harnes wire, just to use T taps. BUt on another site it says to cut one of the disty wires from the factory disty harness (G wire) cause it does nto need to go into the disty. SO far i have not cut any..just T taps...but how do i know if my HEI is working ...since i have not cut anywires cant the original Moduel still be workin? Did that make any sence : ) ? My HEI module seems to be getting a lil warm, so i guess that means its working....

What I did with mine is this..
Since I did both the blaster 2 and the HEI module...
I removed the harness connector that plugs intop the coil on the 3 prong connector and used some quick connects onto that plug and wrapped them well with electrical tape to prevent connectivity with each other
You can see it in the upper lefthand corner of this pic

I spliced into the 5 wire plug...

hey...hei shouldnt warm up, you have to GROUND it very good. made sure by running the cab;le directly to the negative of battery. Also make sure you use proper gauge cable. I do have one cable cut that leads nowhere...

yup i grounded it really good and i used proper gauge cabble. it said that if it got HOT that ur grounds suck. it just gets slightly wwarm. got it grounded 3 places...two ground wires and on nthe bottom metal strip of the module is grounded to the frame. guess i could alway increase the wire size, they said to use 16 so thats what i used.

When I showed you mine, remember the 6th wire you have to cut on the 6 -pin harness. You have to cut that and leave it dissconnected. By the sounds of it, you got the car running and it worked??? Give me a call or e-mail! I can pass by and check this warming up thing. It should be cool, especially in this weather!

This is what i could find out, if the wire is NOT cut then both Ignition modules are working..and what ever is controling them is working twice as hard. i went aheand and cut mine, and it still runs fine.

LOL...I thought you were XperimentX not XxantwawnxX. He's doing an HEI mod as we speak too. You must have thought I was a wack job when I said I had looked at your car. Anyways, good to hear your back on the road though....another successful HEI install. XperimentX just called me and that will make two successful mods for the day!
