[WTB] 5 speed swap "kit" for K8

looking for everything needed to swap out the auto tranny in my 94 GS. parts car would be ideal as well. willing to Drive a bit to pick up. Located in southern Manitoba. Will drive east to the right place in NW ontario, or west to Edmonton/Calgary.

I missed this post the first time around as well.. but there is a kit for sale here for $400.. after shipping.. it will likely be the same as what I paid for mine.. so a decent deal. Cheers

Right after you come help me do mine

I got my kit this past friday.. and have started ripping.. I am doing more than just a tranny conversion though.. also doing the waterpump & timing belt kit. Likely my GS wont see the road till late april early may.. need $$$ to buy all the little stuff you know.. which will have to wait as I get paychecks to afford them.

Other parts I decided to buy today.. Optima Red Top will be a higher priority than I previously thought.. the crappy Die Hard in it keeps dying.. even if I disconnect it while the car sits.

Gonna be a fun project.. well.. maybe not.. but in the end it will be more than worth it

I dunno about fun...but it will be worth it...still no reply from seller on the other thread. Oh man thats a long drive from here to Chicago (1100 Miles)...hoping we will drive up even if only a couple hundred miles.

btw: is your auto tranny any good? I'm looking for an auto tranny outta the GS for a friend

also as far as my ATX...its pretty much shot. sorry.

My ATX on the other hand only has 92k miles on it.. it shifts excellent as well. It has one minor problem in that the speedo sensor is malfunctioning. Doesnt effect how well it operates.. just makes the hold light flash.. shows a code 6 which is the speedo sensor. It also has a brand new tranny filter (not even installed yet still in the box) and I can install a drain plug in the pan as well (was planning to do this before the opportunity to get my MTX kit came along)

I dont consider these ATX transmissions really worth much because they are prone to problems.. so I would sell it fairly cheap say.. $175 + shipping. And since you are in calgary.. even if I send it as a gift.. you will likely be looking at some hefty shipping charges. The ATX is still in my GS.. but should be out within a week or so at most. Cheers

I might be able to get my shipping company to come pick up the tranny from you. So it works good other then the sensor? Will i be able to swap it out and replace it? (sorry i dont know anything about these auto trannies) I am really trying to look for an auto tranny for him. so let me know.

The ATX in my GS shifts better and quicker than the ATX in my RS.. if they were compatible.. I wouldnt get rid of it LOL And yes.. swapping the speedo sensor is pretty simple.. its all in the online shop manual on how to do it. I was going to.. but since my GS is my toy project car.. I really want it to be a 5 spd. When the MTX kit became available to me locally.. it was too good of a deal to pass up
