hey, on my old car i hooked up a switch to power my interior glow, i just spliced a couple wires to the pos and neg of the cigarette lighter. and ran them to the switch, then ran the glow tubes to the switch.
i remember it being a trial and error kinda thing.
i wanna do it to my mazda, but i dont remember how i did it
i went form the positive from the cigarette lighter to the positive on the switch.
then i took the positive from the glow, and hooked it up to the "acc" on the switch.
then i hooked the negative from the glow to the negative from the cigarette ligther.
i think thats all i did on my old car, but it still doesnt work. is that all hooked up properly or did i blow a fuse during the process. thanks alot guys

Dont know what you mean by "acc" of the switch - are you talking about the different positions on the ignition switch?
Well if you have a test light try hooking it up to the lighter - that way you will rule out if the lighter socket is getting proper power supply.
(if it doesnt work - check the fuses first)
If it works then try hooking up your glow light directly to the lighter without a switch. That way you can rule out a faulty glow light.
If both the above method works then its time to check the wiring of the switch or replace the switch.
Before you do anything just check all fuses just to be safe -

there are three posts on the switch in order power, acc, ground so you have the power and the acc portion right now you have to also wire the negitive side of your glow to the ground post of the switch as well that way you have eveything running through one circut also if you haven't done it yet put a fuse in line on the power wire from the lighter and also on the acc line don't want your car shorting out and starting a fire
