Remote Engine Start
Hi.
I just installed alarm with engine start in my mx3 1.6 dohc 94, but I need to connect this one wire. It´s sense wire for success of starting. it has to turn to the output 12v when motor is running.
I quess it´s somewhere in the engine room, but I don´t know much about this, Can someone help me out here? Where do I find this wire, what color on so on.
BTW nice forum you got here. Please write so I can understand, I´am from denmark, so I don´t understand if it´s written to technical.

Secondary Ignition Wire. There are 4 wires under the steering column (not including the two black ones). Pink, Purple, and something like yellow and purple/white. Look them up in the online shop manual. I think its the purple/white wire, but check before you do it, i'm not responsible for making you splice the wrong wire. And don't cut the wire, there are crimps that can splice wires without cutting them, make sure you use those.
Are you talking about the 2 black and the other 4 wires in the ignition key? I need to connect to a place where the is no 12v output when I turn the ignition to on. There should only be 12v when motor starts running. It signals the the motor has startet, so the starter should stop running and not try to start the car again. Do you know what I mean?

I have no idea what you are trying to say anymore
and I havent the clue what a generator is.
As for remote start, there are a lot of wires involved.
-One goes to the ACC so that the accessories lite up
-One goes to the Primary Ignition while another go to the Secondary ignition (these simulate the key being put it, and also confirms the car being on)
-One hits the Starter wire (so the car will start)
(These 4 are under the steering column)
-One taps the tach wire, this tells the remote starter that the car is up and running.
(Off the distributor)
This is how your remote start SHOULD be wired. Anything less wouldn't work (unless its those timed remote starts, in which case your car will probly eventually stop working).

Generator, don´t know what else to call it. it´s part of the charging system. it generates power to the battery. online manual G-012..
it has nothing to do with the 4 wires under the steering column. It just signals to the alarm main unit, that the engine has startet, otherwise it will try to start the engine again. doesnt sound good when the engine is all ready running.
