Ok found out from probetalk that on an mx3 an m62 would be good, i was looking on ebay and they run around 50 - 150 which is WAY cheap... anyone got pics or well at lwast anyone knows how we would adapt these to our engines? from my understanding the m62 series seem,s to be a supercharger for an engine manifold and not after the vaf?? anyone?

Hector, Hector, Hector, or should I say "reallyniceguy", such enthusiasm is admirable. By all accounts there is not enough room in the MX for an A/C mounting of the M62. BTW, the M62 is the one you want. The M62's ob ebay, for $50 -$150 for the most part are on their last legs, usually they're leaking and in dyer need of a rebuild/overhaul with new gaskets and the like. Finding the right professional that knows how to rebuild them or just to get the parts may be a bit of a challenge. "Adlorin" from PT is a bit of a SC guru and has built many install kits for the SC's. He's quite addemant about the M62 not having enough/adequate spce to be mounted on an MX. Spinkx70 and I are hoping to get his KL shaft kit when it becomes available again. If you do go ahead with the A/C mount project, yes you will have to relocate the oil filter and mount. There's info regarding that too on PT and the best source for that stuff is from Probe Addiction. I'm surprised you're asking these questions since you started a thread on this many months ago. You also posted in my thread wrt this subject - so all or most of your answers should be covered there.

Here's the thread with M62 stuff;

http://www.mx-3.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.ph ... hlight=m62

Here's what my M62 looks like. Completely new looking and completely overhauled and should perform as new.

Here's what or how it should be mounted on the KL engines. Given that there is more room laterally than the Probe , fitment is no problem at all and having the SC close to the IM is an added bonus.

Hey trust me it will not fit. I've done it my self and I've tried :cry: It just won't fit. You will come way to close to the front frame without and adapter for t he air coming out of the supercharger. If you were going to go supercharged than go with the kit with the shaft. IT WON'T FIT THE MX3'S PROBES HAVE ALOT MORE ROOM THAN US. Just telling you so you won't waste your time like me.

Sorry to bring up a old post,

but has anyone tried to fit these on the b6? where the ac compressor would go? or even right below the power steering pump?

There seems to be LOTS of room in and around there.

It's the same engine, so it shouldn't be too different. Some how they managed to bolt it to the front of the engine. There should be plenty of room for that shelf to fit in our cars, you would just need a different route for the air to move since the intake runs off the other side.
