OBX or SSAutoChrome headers? (HotShot knockoffs?!)

Post by mike_moss »

Ok, I've read the header FAQ and searched...are these the headers that are the HotShot knockoffs? (also referred to as second-gen. SSAutoChrome or OBX headers)

Can anyone post a photo of the HotShot headers?

Yes, they are HotShot knockoffs. SSAutochrome to be precise.

What headers do you guys recommend? Best place to get them in the US? Are the SSAutochrome ones any good? They seem to be the cheapest.

OBX or SSAutoChrome headers? (HotShot knockoffs?!)

Post by Bling Bling »

I just bought a set of OBX headers from MX6.com and a ATX DE ECU for 190.00 US. Should be good regardless of whether it's OBX or a knockoff...good price. :D

From what i have seen the OBX ones measure 1 1/2 Primaries, and the SS-Autochrome ones measure a 1 5/8 Primaries.

I have tried, and heard almost all headers on our engines. The Pacesetter ones make the most HP by far, but sound will suffice a lil. And now i currently have the SS Autochrome ones and the sound is sweet, but i don't feel like they give my car added power.

Interesting... can you comment on the fit issues that i've heard about the pace headers?

I don't care about sound, if it means more power. 8)

My set that i received fit just fine, other than the fact that it didn't come with flex pipe. The only fitment issue i had was the front 02 hits the clutch slave cylinder. On an Automatic there was no fitment issues. Since i had them on both.

i have the streetimports headers (http://www.psituning.ca/store/product_i ... cts_id/152)

i love them, i had pacesetters but they were such poor quality and fitment it was pathetic. i noticed an increase in power from mid to upper rpms and the fitment was perfect with the obx ones.
