92 mx3 SOHC not running, worth buying?
92 mx3 SOHC not running, worth buying?
so I saw an add for a 92 mx3 M-Tranny that is not running
The couple was selling it for $500 US, but I told them I could only muster up $300 and they said it should be fine
the old college student plee ;>)
so their story goes as this:
they drove the car everyday up until they got a new one in June of 2005
then they parked it (in garage) and didnt try and move it until October '05
when they went to start it, the engine didnt turn over
they checkt the battery and found it was dead and replaced it
but the engine would still not turn over.
After reading around in the forum I decided it might have something to due with the fuses as I have blown a few with a few DIY mods on my previous vehicles. When I went down to look at the vehicle the main fuses (80A bolted in under the hood) was in fact blown
if that is the only thing wrong with the car it is like a $3 fix
but i was wondering what you guys might think.
Is this car worth it? I mean its only $300, but I don't know too much about the MX3. Is it an expensive car to fix? the car is "AS IS" What if something else is wrong?
any opinions would be greatly appreaciated

I get it if i were u i bought one for $600 piston rings where gone intereior all jack up. I restored it slap a BP motor but sadly i traded for a 88 MX-6 GT. So again am looking for another Poor mx-3 that an owner never really cared for. Restore it and turn into a monster.
Sound from what was written u got a good deal i would go for it. Yes the MX-3 can be expensive car fix and since its been sitting for months thier the chance that there maybe something else wrong or u got a yourself a $3 fix. I would junk the sohc 1.6 and swap a 1.8 DOHC BP.
