A guy offered me a 225 whp K8 engine turboed for $800. i thought k8's cant handle boost.

Sure they can, there's a few, mrspanky79 here in Ontario has one, but blew it up and is replacing it. I don't believed he dyno'd it, but I think i guestimates it being under 200hp. BATTOSAI has one boosted to 10psi as well. It's possible, you can boost any engine. I had thought that the k8 had weaker internals than a KL, but apparently because of te K8's smaller ports and fewer overlaps, as well as non-aggressive cams, it's suppose to be most boost friendly. I dont even think you can get forged internals for a K8. In the end, the turbo will probably be as fast and powerful as a ZE, but you has the added complexity, and possible unreliability, of a turbo setup, with an engine that has hard to find replacement internal parts.

Ideally, this thread would get more information if it was posted in the V6 Technicial/Performance and/or the Forced Induction forums.

u can get pretty much any piston you would want forged just send the oem piston to a known manufacturer and they will take the specs down and custom forge one for ya

the guy also has a K8 supercharged (from what he tells me) so i think a super charger will work better due to a faster spool up
