Hi, please post all your non Forced Induction questions in the right forum... this belongs in the V6 Technical/Performance forum.
http://www.mx-3.com/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=15

Also, you need to combine your threads and make one and not clutter the forums, especially when it's all about the same topic.

Thanks.

Well im asking the question for forced induction reasons, but your right it would work in the v6 area. And i created a new thread because the question is different and because they already answered my question in the other thread. Meaning the people that can answer this one will probably not go back to the same thread where they just answerd my first question (thinking its all done and over with). Better chance with a new thread, i just needed it answered swiftly and made sure the way i posted it would do just that.

All that said, you are correct still, i apologize.

(and thanx for the links but i know how to navigate the site, ive been here longer than you but had a different name, unless ofcourse you also had a different name and was here even before me :) :D  )

The valve pockets create a huge weak link in the piston crowns. Theres not enough material and the added heat and pressure of boost/n20 can cause warpage.

I broke a chunk off one piston crown, cracked and warped another, and warped several more.

My built motor is using 300zx twin turbo pistons. The crown is huge compared to the stock KL pistons, and not weakened by huge valve pockets.

flat pistons are usually higher compression pistons rather than dished ones that are lower compression
