Tokiko Struts

Hey, how good are the blue tockico HP's? I want to know what other ppl think about them, I ahve them and I am not sure how good they are since I have never had performance struts before, they seem to be tough.

I have them on mine and about 4 or 5 of my buddies have them on their cars too. We all love em.

They are decent, but i found the ZX2 S/R struts to have better valving and matched much better to the H&R springs.

The thing with the Blues, is that they are designed with the stock spring, they only offer about 10% increased stiffness over stock. That does not give much room at all for higher spring rates.

The S/R struts are designed around the matching ZX2 eibach springs. Have a shrter stroke to accomidate the lower length and have much more agressive valving. The ZX2 spring rates are 177-297# F - 114.2-182# R. The Blues would not be able to handle 297# springs...

Is it possible to drop 2 inches without any risk ? I mean with the Tokico or the ZX2 ... no damage on a broken ground ? I'd like to add 15 " wheels, and I don't know if I must begin with the wheels or the drop.

the ZX2's have a shorter shaft stroke for a 1.2" drop. A 2" drop will be *ok* but will tend to wear the strut out faster.

the Blues do not have a shoter stroke and would tend to wear out even faster with a 2" drop.

15" should be fine, but you may want to think about 16".

Thank you. Yes I'd like better 16" but I fear my acceleration speed will be poor. My MX only have 107 hp ...

Very useful. According what I have read, 16" doesn't change so much if you take the good tires. But I'll have to control with the legal sizes in my country.
