Is this kit for a DOHC as well...

Post by cdngrl420 »

for some reason it wont let me post the link to the air filter but this is what it says about it...
1994 MAZDA MX-3 1.6L L4 F/I - 88BHP, 16v Automotive 57i Kit Part # 57-0447

Is this only for the SOHC or for the DOHC as well I want to go buy the part tomorrow but I can't find a cone shaped filter only stock box ones, if anyone knows where I can find one in the GTA/Hamilton/London area that be great, don't suggest performance improvements tho the guy said they dont carry them.

*edit*

this might help

You can't find a cone filter anywhere? Bahahahah. You ca get them anywhere. Hell. I'll sell you two new ones(never been used) for 15 bucks plus shipping if you'd like.

That adapter plate isn't compatable with a DOHC 1.6. You can just get a cone filter from pepboys or something. Put it on your maf like the pic there shows. You do not need an adapter, just pull off the little rubber ring that is left on there after unhooking from your stock air box. PM me if you need install help. I'll get some pics for you.
It might be slow, but it's not a civic!

That looks like a full kit for the escort. To m, it doesn't look like it would fit. If you are looking for the full kit, it's been said many a time on here that the SOHC one on ebay will work just fine, but it isn't k&n so you would have to buy a true k&n filter if you don't want the one that comes with it. You could just buy a regular k&n cone filter and put it on your maf sensor like many of us have done also...
