2.5 with 1.8 crank

Post by codyhoover »

I've got this crazy idea i'd like some feed back on. put the 1.8 crank in the 2.5 block. essentially it would make it a 2.2-2.3L so less hp than the 2.5 but since it has a shorter stroke it should rev alot faster. i,v done some resurch and the 1.8 crank has a smaller diameter so i'd have to have custom conecting rods (and maybe bearings, not sure on that one) but there the same length so they should fit. any body heard of this or have any input?
-cody

A 84.5mm bore with a 69.6mm stroke would keep the 2.02:1 rod ratio bringing your displacement to 2341cc's or so.

I used to know alot about MX-3's, but not so much anymore. Oh well.

done some reserch and i would use KL block and pistons, and the K8 crank and connecting rods. the bearings are the same size(pretty sure, but correct me if i'm wrong)
any input?
