Clutch?

Post by Bumpysbro »

well just got my Cat looked at and it isnt that, i got a huge powerloss and it feels like the clutch has been slipping. like ill have horrible acceleration then bam itll pull alot then set back down when i start out. I got no power in 5th and im at too high of rpms for what i should be. i got 100k on that clutch so i wonder if i should replace it with a stage 1 racing clutch? or would my problems be else where

When you pin it do the rpm's increase fairly quickly? If so, its most likely a slipping clutch...

yea if you punch it and the RPMs raise quick while speed goes up slowly you have a bad or misadjusted clutch.

well i know my clutch isnt completely out cuz if i let it idle then put it into third then let off the brake and when im falling back i let off the clutch and it pops so i know it works. but ya my rpms climb but no power basically. were gonna try some other stuff before we buy a new clutch just to make sure....like my car needs to shift wayy too early, and by the time im in fifth i have no power left over and im at 3500 at 60

it's your clutch...and if it was "completely out" your car wouldn't move at all. unless you got out and pushed.

i think exedy is pretty much the same as a stock one. if you are looking for performance i would recommend an ACT stage 1.

Ive had my clutch for about 1 year now. Bought it from South Bend. Stage 1, very very good clutch it can take alot of abuse and it still performs smooth like the stock clutch. Id recommend the to anyone. Good luck
