if so what about the little ball at the end of it? you didnt have that on the new rod did u?
I can shift when car is off but not when car is on.

no i just rouded it off with grinder so it sat in fork good and the other end i just took off edge so it doesnt cut into slave.you can also go to junk yard and find a longer one off another car.or buy a fatter rod and make it any shape you need,as long as you have time and tools anything is possible.

well right now its almost as if the clutch is stuck. will this project fix that or will i still have to open the tranny to fix the clutch? thanks

You might as well try the rod. If that doesn't work, you may have to do the clutch. But the rod is worth a try...much better than dropping the tranny to SEE if it's the clutch/pressure plate...
